As I explained the mechanics of creating a s'more, Leah demonstrated.

I am learning that Southerners and Filipinos have one thing in common for certain: we both love to enjoy great food. Our staff retreat offered several opportunities to just this.

Leah and I were charge of teaching everyone else how to make s’mores, a fireside treat that has been enjoyed by Americans and Canadians for decades. We were also asked to prepare a brief history about this campfire dessert we all love.

Did you know…

  • s’mores were first created by Girl Scouts in the 1920s
  • the name ‘”s”more” comes from the girl scouts shouting ‘we want some more” after enjoying the chocolate and toasted marshmallow delight
  • August 10th is unofficially declared National S’mores Day around the world.
